Exotic Home’s Global Import line is sourced from all around the globe. We send it to port in Norfolk via shipping containers. Over the last couple of weeks we received one from India containing our popular Reclaimed Teak furniture pieces, another from England with one-of-a-kind antiques we source from all over Europe, and finally another container chock full of unique accessories from Indonesian artisans.
What makes our exclusive Reclaimed Teak furniture so interesting is that no two are alike! Every piece has unique colorations since the lumber is collected from old buildings, homes and boats. Antiques from England made their voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. England is one of the largest melting pots in the world. We are able to source the most interesting finds because of this. Pieces are brought to Europe by travelers and the variety of styles and culture we can find is very exciting. These pieces are made by a process where a glass blower forms molten glass over a piece of teak root. We have so many variations from a mid-sized tabletop vase, larger double vase, tall floor standing ones, and even wall hangings. The best part is that the glass is removable to be easily cleaned. These make perfect gifts! Many people use them to display shells and seaglass collections, a fish bowl for Beta fish, or even a terrarium for succulents or air plants.
